JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Sept. 29, 2011 – The Jacksonville Public Library today announced a new schedule of operations for its 21 locations effective Oct. 15.Awkward, but not as bad as we had feared.
The library’s fiscal year 2012 budget approved by the Jacksonville City Council Tuesday night reflects a reduction of $1.3 million from the previous year.
To accommodate this reduction, service hours at all locations will be reduced; however, all locations will remain open on Mondays and the Maxville Branch Library will not be closed.
The five libraries that currently offer Sunday hours (the Main Library and the Beaches, Highlands, South Mandarin and Webb Wesconnett Regional libraries) will be open one hour less, but will no longer close on Sundays in the summer.
Brentwood, Brown Eastside and Westbrook Branch libraries will operate Monday through Friday.
A complete schedule of library hours is available on the library’s website.
